John Patrick Burns, age 44, of Stratford, beloved son of Edward and Josephine (Mascia) Burns, passed away on Wednesday November 30, 2011 in his home. The Bravest of the Brave. John left a lasting impression of what courage is, to anyone who knew or met him. He was an inspiration to us all. His unforgettable laugh was contagious. John Loved Classic Rock Music and could often be found listening to Todd Rundgren, Kansas, and Yes, amongst his vast music collection. He enjoyed taking weekend trips to the Ct. Casinos, and attending the concerts of many of his favorites. He was an avid sports fan dedicated to the Raiders, Knicks, Mets, Rangers, and UConn. A proud uncle, John regularly attended baseball and football games at Notre Dame of Fairfield, St. Joe's, and Seymour High School, to watch his nephews play. He was completely devoted to his family. Through all his battles, John remained upbeat and positive to the very end. Though his time on earth was too short, our memories of him are everlasting. John, a 1985 graduate of Bunnell High School, was a computer specialist for Burns Construction and BC Sand and Gravel Company for over 25 years. He was also a member of the Connecticut Spina Bifida Association. Survivors in addition to his beloved parents include his devoted brothers Edward T. Burns III and his wife Pamela of West Haven, Richard J. Burns Sr., and his wife Deborah of Seymour, Kenneth A. Burns and his wife Donna of Huntington, and Ronald L. Burns and his partner Louis Falzarano of California, 11 nieces and nephews, 3 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.
