John R. Agostino Sr., age 88, of Stamford, beloved husband of Minnie Agostino, passed away on September 25, 2022. John was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy on February 4, 1934, to the late Frank and Maria (Varacali) Agostino. John came from Italy at the age of 15.  He had a successful landscaping business for 35 years. Survivors, in addition to his beloved wife of 66 years, include his devoted children: Frank and his wife, Betty of Norwalk; John Jr. of Stamford; Steve and his wife, Eleanor of Washington DC; and Marie DeBernardo of Stratford; cherished grandchildren: Anthony, John, James, Julia, Michael and Matthew. John was predeceased by his two brothers, Bruno and Joseph. John loved having his family visit, spending time in his garden and going with Minnie and grandchildren to their home in Upstate New York. He also enjoyed playing his accordions and seeking out authentic Italian food that reminded him of his homeland.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. meeting directly at St. Jerome RC Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk.  The reception will immediately follow at St. Jerome Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home, Stratford.
