Joao "Jinho" Borges, age 80, of Shelton, passed away on July 21, 2024.

Jinho was born in Portugal on August 20, 1943, beloved son of Francisco and Ester (Borges) Jose. He enjoyed playing his accordion and will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his brothers, Frank Jose and his wife Fatima of Shelton, Manuel Vaz and his wife Sandra of Florida, sisters, Michelle Licitra of Florida, and Maria Silveira and her husband Antonio of Monroe, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The Jose family would like to thank the staff of Shelton Lakes for their kind and compassionate care.

Visitation on Thursday July 25th from 12-1:00 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
