JoAnn Simko Fasanella, age 47, of Stratford, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 28th, after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. JoAnn is the wife of Matt Fasanella and is survived by her three children, Jenna, Kyle, and Matthew. She is the daughter of Annette (Bucci) & Chuck Simko, sibling of Lisa Simko Smith (Geoff), Lynn Simko (Ed Nilsen), and Chuck Simko Jr. (Janis), daughter-in-law of Georgene & Matthew Fasanella and brothers-in-law and their wives Tony (Angela), and Chris (Vanessa). She also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. JoAnn was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Josephine (Testo) and James Bucci and paternal grandparents, Helen and George Simko. JoAnn was born in Bridgeport, CT and graduated from St. Joseph's High School and Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Computer Science. She was most recently employed as an office manager with Vimini Associates. Always involved in her children's schools and activities, she was active in volunteer work for St. Mark School and Stratford High School. JoAnn was loving, selfless, compassionate, and a genuinely beautiful person inside and out. She had an infectious smile and will be forever missed and loved by those whose lives she touched. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 3rd at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be private. Friends may greet JoAnn's family on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
