Joan P. Kowalczyk Woods, age 65, of Shelton, the widow of Charles Woods, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012 in Connecticut Hospice Branford. Joan, a homemaker was born in Bridgeport to the late Charles and Olga (Molchin) Kowalczyk and has been a life long area resident. Survivors include her beloved children Charles Woods Jr and his wife Melissa of Ansonia, and Marcella Pitt and her husband Buddy, 2 cherished grandchildren Nate and Dakota Woods, a sister Jean Topar and her husband Ray of Maine, and several nieces and nephews.
