IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan E.
Brazzell
February 17, 1930 – February 7, 2026
Born in Brooklyn to James and Kathryn Brazzell on February 17, 1930, Joan Brazzell entered Eternal Life at the age of 95 in Bridgeport, Connecticut on February 7, 2026. She was predeceased by her brother, James Brazzell.
Joan enjoyed a long and dedicated career with AT&T, retiring in 1990. In retirement, she remained deeply engaged in community life in Stratford, Connecticut. She was the founder and chief rosarian of the Wedding Rose Garden at Boothe Memorial Park, where her love of gardening and service to others reflected her gratitude for God’s creation. The beauty she nurtured there will continue to be a living tribute to her generous spirit.
A devoted parishioner of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, her life reflected her trust in God’s providence and Divine Mercy.
Her devoted friends Mark Genest and Betty Anne Mathis, and Tina Heuring, were a great comfort to Joan through the years she enjoyed at her home in Stratford.
She is survived by her cousin, William F. Ryan, who remembers her with gratitude.
Joan will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to her Church and community, and the beauty she brought into the lives of others.
Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home-Stratford.
