Jennifer Michelle Pemberton, age 41, of Gilmer, Texas, unexpectedly passed away in her home on March 8, 2026.

Jennifer had been a longtime resident of Gilmer, but Connecticut was always home to her. It was where her heart remained and where she had planned to return following the recent passing of her beloved mother, Renee Newell.

Jenn was no stranger to life’s struggles, pain and grief, but they were no match for her determination to succeed. She was beautiful, intelligent, funny and loved all things dolphins. She was an animal lover, rescuing her 4 fur babies, Lucky, Turbo and Puddin, as well as her predeceased soul dog, Ryder.

Jennifer is deeply missed and will continue to live on by those who loved her most. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 24 years, Troy Pemberton; her loving father, William Piccolo; and her beloved children, Markus Rizzo and Amaya Pemberton. She is also survived by her brother, Patrick Novotny, and her sisters, Monica Novotny and Rachael Hoover.

Jennifer is further survived by a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins—many of whom grew up more like siblings.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation for all the thoughts and prayers. A private Celebration of Life is planned for family and close friends upon Jennifer’s return home. Details to follow.
