Jean Rita (Grich) Doran, age 89, of Stratford, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Born in Bridgeport on January 8, 1935, Jean graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1952 and Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Following graduation, she worked as an RN in the maternity ward of Bridgeport Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Connecticut growing up on Deacon St. in Bridgeport before eventually settling down with her family in Stratford where she lived for over 50 years.

Jean cherished time with her loved ones, spending countless weekends with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters and hosting Easter and Christmas Eve celebrations with her extended family for years.

She was proud of her Slovak heritage, a devoted parishioner at St. Marks in Stratford and a loyal patron of the Plaza diner in Shelton.

Jean is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Harold Doran, her parents, Helen and Andrew Grich as well as her beloved sister Alice Koutrakos.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Patricia Doran Tangney and her husband Terrence of Fairfield, and three granddaughters Katie, Carolyn and Lauren Tangney whom she loved very much. She will be missed by her two sisters Andrea Ezzie and Tina Grich and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Friends may visit with Jean's family on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 9-10 A.M. at the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.

Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
