Jean Bodak Beezel cherished daughter of the late Michael and Mary Gaydos Bodak entered into eternal peace on Thursday September 5, 2024, at CT Hospice in Branford surrounded by family.
Jean was born in Bridgeport CT on November 14, 1936, and was one of five children. She attended Warren Harding High School and graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. She entered the United States Air Force Nursing Corp earning the rank of 1st Lieutenant before leaving the military from California and returning to Connecticut. Jean's passion for nursing continued for 55 years, beginning with Bridgeport Hospital, the military and finally joining the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth Infirmary in Monroe Connecticut until her retirement.
While living in Shelton Jean was very involved with her children's school activities, was a member of St. Lawrence Church and taught CCD. She was proud of her family, enjoyed family gatherings, reading, traveling and cooking her mom's favorite dishes. She was also a proud Yankees and UCONN basketball fan!
Along with her parents Jean was predeceased by her sister, Helen and brothers, John and Edward. Survivors include her brother, Robert Bodak (Mary Lou), daughters, Linda Paglinco (Ron), Nanci Beezel, son, Charles Beezel, dear family friend, Cheryl Wetmore, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and her precious grand dogs.
A heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Connecticut Hospice, Jean's nurse Audrey and loving aide Rosalin.
Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford. A Memorial Mass will be at a later date.
