Jean A. Adams, age 68 of Shelton, the widow of George Adams Sr. died Friday, November 10, 2006 in Connecticut Hospice Branford. Born in Wilkes-Bare, Pennsylvania to the late Howard and Jean Transue Murray, she has been a life long area resident living in Shelton for the last 14 years. She retired from Bridgeport Hospital in June of 2003 after 20 years of service in the Central Supply Department, prior to the hospital she worked as a cosmetologist in the area. After retirement she enjoyed fishing, arts and crafts. She was a devoted Lutheran and member of Trinity Lutheran Church who was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Jean was loved by many family and friends and will be remembered for her gentle and kind manner. Survivors include three sons: George R. Adams Jr. and his wife Helen of Shelton, John P. Adams and his wife JoAnn of Derby and Timothy J. Adams Sr. of Shelton; seven grandchildren Renee Adams, Jinelle Braun and her husband Eric, Veronica Adams, Johnna Adams, Timothy Adams Jr., Theresa Adams and Taylor Adams; two great-grandchildren Aidan and Kiersten; a sister Carol Stannard and her husband Larry of Shelton; a brother-in -law George Hamila of Southbury and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Patricia Hamila The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Connecticut Hospice in Branford and the relatives and friends who have supported Jean and her family throughout her illness. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 9:00 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00 am in Trinity Lutheran Church 183 Howe Avenue, Shelton with Pastor Jack R. Whritenour officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery Bridgeport. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 pm.
