Janet A. Onze (83) of Shelton and the beloved wife of 63 years to Leo F. Onze passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Born in Bridgeport on June 24, 1940, to the late Michael and Anna (Oleshkevich) Super, Janet was a lifelong area resident and a retiree from Brew Printing where she was an office manager. She was a member of the Holy Name Ladies Guild, the Baldwin Center Seniors, the Shelton Seniors, the Stage One Theater, Room Mother, Girl Scout Leader, Library Aide, PTA, and was active in the Duckpin Leagues in Stratford.  She loved dancing, music, and traveling with Leo, especially on bus trips with the Dresser Retirees Club.

Janet continued her mother's tradition of faith, family, and feast.  She hosted dinner parties and opened her home to all family and friends on every holiday. Janet always had a fresh baked cake in the cake dish; a smile on her face, and a cup of Sanka or coffee ready for whomever visited.

Survivors in addition to her beloved husband include her devoted children Catherine Zasciurinskas and her husband Thomas of Northford, and Thomas Onze of Milford, sister Arlene Auer and her husband Frank of Haverhill, MA, granddaughter Susan Francis and her husband Kevin of Wallingford, great-grandson Matthew Francis, and several nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her parents, daughter-in-law Dawn (DiGiacomo) Onze and grandson Mark Onze.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 10:00 am in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave Stratford. Interment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Trumbull. Friends may greet the family prior to Mass from 9-10 am in Holy Name Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests those desiring make donations to the Lord's Kitchen at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, CT 06614 or to the American Parkinson Association CT Chapter via www.apdaparkinson.org/community/connecticut/ways-to-give-ct.
