Jan-Gee Wong McCollam, age 81, of Stratford, beloved wife of Paul McCollam, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025.

Jan-Gee was born in New York City on October 22, 1944, to the late Mon-Guey and Ruth (Whitson) Wong and had been a longtime Connecticut resident. She earned her BA from Catholic University of America.

Jan-Gee pursued a career in finance and banking. She became the first woman Senior VP at Hartford National Bank (now Bank of America) and also served as the Treasurer of Pitney Bowes Credit Corp. in Darien.

Her true passions were helping young women advance themselves and their careers and giving back to her community, especially the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hartford where she served on the board of Directors and was the first woman Chairman of the Board.  She was an initial founder of the Aurora Women and Girls Foundation, a longtime Director of the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington and a member of the Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) supporting women and girls.

Jan-Gee loved to travel, relaxing at her other home on the Big Island of Hawaii, and her UCONN Women's Basketball teams.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her sister, Joyce Chin of Huntington Station NY and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.at St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Burial will be private.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
