James W. Northrop, age 77, of Monroe, beloved husband of Gail Ingram Northrop, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. James, a driver for TEAM Inc, was born in New York to the late Clifford and Hazel Northrop and has been a long time area resident. James was a hard worker who loved his family and life; he carried his passion for gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors in addition to his wife include 10 devoted children: Joanne Bemus, Cindy Nichols, Clifford Northrop, Kyla Bilodeau (Keith), Beth Volkmar (Michael), Carissa Harris (Chad), Ryan Northrop (Sarah), Christopher Northrop, Jason Northrop, Danielle Northrop, 13 Grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his children James and Patricia Northrop. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd at 11 a.m. in Stratford Baptist Church 131 Huntington Road Stratford with Rev. Dr. Robert Genevicz officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
