James Miller of Stratford died after a short illness at the VA hospital in West Haven on December 23, 2023.

Jim married Pegi Skene in 1958.  They had been married for almost 50 years. He is survived by 3 children and their spouses - Kathy (Craig), Timothy (Patti), Liz (Joe), grandchildren Lyndsey, Jenny, Andrew, Matthew, Lexi, Erynn, John and Tim, and 3 great grandchildren: Piper, Owen and another on the way.

Jim was born on January 21, 1934, in Buffalo, New York to Glenn and Betty Miller (Schruefer) and moved to several places in New York and Massachusetts before settling in Harwich, Massachusetts in the late 1940s where he spent the rest of his childhood. A graduate of Wentworth Institute in Boston, he was certified in aircraft maintenance.  After serving in Korea, he worked in helicopter maintenance for several years at Sikorsky Aircraft.  Jim, along with other family members, ran the William A. Skene Company for over 40 years.

Jim was an avid tennis player. He and Pegi were active members of the Stratford Tennis association and the "gang at Ruth's house".  In later years, he and his companion Tomoko enjoyed pickle ball at Oronoque and in Florida - where he and Tomoko spent their winters. James Miller will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

\A funeral mass celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 am on January 15, 2024, at St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford CT., followed by a luncheon at Bridge House Restaurant in Milford CT.

He will be buried with military honors at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Harwich at a later date.
