Irene Jurczak Orrell, age 80, of Stratford, beloved wife of Fred Orrell, passed away on December 20, 2017 in Lord Chamberlain Health Center, Stratford. Irene was born in Bridgeport on April 9, 1937 to the late Stanislaw and Pauline (Andrzejczyk) Jurczak and has been a life long Stratford resident. Survivors in addition to her husband of 60 years include her devoted children, Paul Orrell and his wife Lynn of Farmington, CT, Christopher Orrell and Laura Orrell both of Boston, Massachusetts, 2 grandsons, Eric and Timothy Orrell, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Irene was pre-deceased by her siblings, Chester Jurczak, Edward Jurczak, Sophie Florczak, Walter Jurczak, Helen Gnoza and Walter Gnoza. Irene was retired from the University of Bridgeport. She was a faithful member of St Mark's Church. She was a graduate of Harding High School, class of 1954. While in high school she met Fred, the love of her life and husband of 60 years. Irene enjoyed living in Oronoque Village, dancing, watching her grandchildren's sporting events and trips to Boston to visit her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Thursday, December 28 ^th meeting directly at St. Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be private. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make a donation in memory of Irene to St Mark's Church.
