Irene G. (Spitz) Kostzewski, age 90, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Daniel Piroscafo and Vincent Kostzewski, passed away on March 29, 2026. Irene was born in Bridgeport on May 19, 1935, to the late Francis and Jean (Dwyer) Spitz and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Harding High School, class of 1953 and retired from the Stratford Board of Education, where she was a secretary in the Multi-Media Department. Irene(Renee) was a devout Catholic, passionate about her family, especially her children and grandchildren, enjoyed close and personal friendships with many, worked continuously to support and raise money for many charities and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of life. She will be deeply missed but her love, laughter, humor and joy will live on eternally.

Survivors include her devoted children, Donna Madamba of Rhode Island, Alane (William) Oleksiak, of Seymour, Lori (Jim Tadduni) DiBlasi of Stratford, Renee (Morgan Pasicki) Zampedri of Milford, and Daniel (Tasha) Piroscafo of Milford, 9 cherished grandchildren, Billy and Danielle DiLella, Lori DiBlasi, Taylor Och, Morgan Oleksiak, Dana and Kyle Piroscafo and Alexandria and Matthew Madamba, adored great-grandson, Malcolm Och, sister, Sandra Chuba, sister-in-law, Rosemary Spitz and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husbands and parents, Irene was pre-deceased by her brother, Francis Spitz and brother-in-law, George Chuba.

Visitation on Monday, April 6th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
