Irene Hudanets Knopick passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 16th, 2022.  Irene was born in Carpentertown, PA on August 6th, 1926 and was a long time resident of Bridgeport, CT with her predeceased husband William Knopick.  Together they owned Towne Liquors in Stratford, CT for 20 plus years.

Irene loved to cook, bake and clean.  She would spend her Sundays off with her grandchildren when they were small.  In her later years she would cook for her granddaughters before they went to graduate school at night.  She loved to read, spend time with her friends from the nursing home outside taking in the sun, play cards and BINGO.

Irene is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra-Repay Ventura and her husband Eric Ventura, her granddaughters, Amy Deeb and Christie Koolis and their husbands Michael Deeb and Mark Koolis as well as several great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will place on Thursday, September 22nd at 10:30 am  in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church at 100 St. Johns Drive , Trumbull, CT. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 9-10 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
