Obituary

Imadean (White) Seliga 98, beloved wife of the late Edward Seliga passed over on February 26th in her Stratford CT home.  Born in Daisy, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Olive White, and twin sister of the late Ivadean D'Amato.  She is survived by daughter Theresa Dowden and her husband Carl of Red Hook NY, daughter Catherine Mariano, and son-in-law Joseph Mariano of Shelton, four granddaughters Sarah Parker and her husband Paul, Emma Osborne and her husband Grant, Gina Mariano and her wife Stephanie, and Angela Mariano and her fiancé Kevin Bott, three great grandchildren, Jack Parker, Charlotte Parker, Lily Osborne and many nieces and nephews.

Imadean traveled to Bridgeport CT at the age 18 to work in the war effort, working first for GE where she played on the GE Women's Industrial basketball team.  She met her husband, settled in Stratford and worked in manufacturing most of her life. She was a kind and caring person who enjoyed sewing, swimming, taking walks and writing.  Her gentle warm heart made you feel loved whenever you were in her presence.  She loved her family deeply and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her greatest joy.

The family would like to thank her loving caregivers who helped us in every way.  Pearline Simmonds, Joann Martinez and Jessica Velazquez-Perez were blessings and treated Imadean with the utmost compassion and love. Memorial donations can be made to American Heart Association www.heart.org. Burial will be private.
