Ilene Bernice Anderson, age 77, of Stratford, passed into eternal rest on May 4, 2014 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Ilene was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Muir Anderson Jr., and brother Clarence Jacob Stokum Jr., and sisters Betty Jean DiNardo, and Lois Stokum. Ilene was born in Jeannette, Pennsylvania to the late Clarence Jacob Sr. and Hazel Alberta (Mathias) Stokum. She worked at the GC Murphy Company in Jeannette, PA, before moving to Connecticut, where she was employed at EJ Korvettes and Caldor's Department Store. Ilene was and avid sports enthusiast, who enjoyed cheering on her favorite golfer, Phil Mickelson, the Penguins, and the Pittsburg Steelers. More than anything, Ilene loved spending time with her family and beloved grandchildren. Ilene is survived by her devoted children including, Muir Anderson III and his wife Jennifer of Middletown, Kimberly Lipecz and her husband Michael of Stratford, Robert Anderson and his wife Cathleen of Cheshire, and Stacey Shaw and her husband Michael of Stratford, 6 cherished grandchildren Muir IV, Ashley, Sarah, Noah, Emily, and Ryland, siblings Genevieve June Klingensmith, Dolores Melvira Couchenour, Charlotte Catherine Saint, Lillian Mae Tocco, Thomas James Stokum, John Daniel Stokum, Paul Joseph Stokum, and many loved in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday May 9th at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, with Rev. Meg Williams officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
