It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Holly Anne Novak Papstein, a beloved wife, mother, and dedicated philanthropist, who left this world on February 26, 2026, at the age of 60.
Born on December 15, 1965, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to the late Joseph and Helen Kerpchar Novak, Holly was a bright light whose kindness and unwavering commitment to helping others transformed countless lives.
The couple, who had once worked together, rekindled their love and were joyfully married on May 6, a day celebrated as "the best party ever" by all who attended. This started their journey of 30 years together.
Holly was an embodiment of joy and adventure, always ready to embrace life to the fullest. She cherished the moments spent with her family. Her zest for life was evident in her eagerness to take on new experiences, whether it was skydiving with one of her sons, white-water rafting with a good friend, or enjoying the thrill of a ride in a B25 Bomber-a dream fulfilled thanks to her husband's raffle win.
Professionally, Holly made a significant impact in the non-profit sector, serving as the assistant secretary at Augusta Road Baptist Church. She exemplified the spirit of giving through her work as a fundraiser for the American Heart Association and Pendleton Place, organizations that benefited immensely from her passion and dedication. Her unwavering commitment to helping others inspired countless individuals and families, leaving an indelible mark on the community. Holly was not just a fundraiser; she was a beacon of hope, tirelessly advocating for those in need and believing in the power of kindness and support. Her ability to connect with people and her genuine warmth enabled her to cultivate friendships wherever she went, a testament to her kindness and generosity.
Holly was a faithful follower of the Christian faith, grounding her life in her love for the Lord, which shone through in her interactions and her dedication to her community.
Her legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loving husband, Rob; their three children, Scott Papstein (Ellen), Sean Papstein, and Nicholas "Nicky" Papstein (Madison); two adoring grandchildren, Cayden and Kyliegh Papstein, with another granddaughter on the way; and her beloved brother, Darren Novak.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Susan Novak.
Visitation on Monday, March 9th from 9:30 -11 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, CT, with a prayer service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The National Kidney Foundation by visiting www.kidney.org.
As we celebrate Holly's life, we invite all who knew her to hold her memory dear. Let us cherish the moments we shared with her and honor her commitment to service, family, and love. Holly Anne Papstein will be dearly missed but will always remain in the hearts of those she touched.
