Henry M. Jankowski, age 86, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Helen Skirkanich Jankowski, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 in Regency House HCC, Wallingford. Henry, a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran was born in Bridgeport to the late Michael and Antoinette Jankowski and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired Programmer for Remington-Dupont, and was a member of their bowling league. He was also a member of St. John's Russian Orthodox Church, Bridgeport and the Seniors. Henry enjoyed a good cigar and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and U-Conn Women's Basketball Team. Survivors include his sons, Mark Jankowski and his wife Jane of Cheshire, and Joseph Jankowski and his wife Colleen of Coventry, 5 cherished grandchildren, Suzanne and Elizabeth Jankowski, Kaitlin Fonseca and her husband Andrew, Michael Jankowski and his wife Julianna, and Micah Jankowski, 2 great-grandchildren Asa James Fonseca, and Owen Hunter Jankowski, a sister, Helen Emard and her husband Richard of West Haven, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife of sixty years and his parents, Henry was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Christine, brothers, Michael, Charles, John and Edward and sisters, Mary, Michelina, and Vincentia. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 9th at 10:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 11 a.m. in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Panachida at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in Henry's memory to the ASP (Appalachian Service Project) Fund at St. John's Church.
