Helena (Gloria) Swatt, age 91, of Shelton, beloved wife of Joseph Swatt for 70 wonderful years, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2018 in her home with family at her side. Helena was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 21, 1926 to the late John and Helena (Koch) Molnar, but has been a long time area resident. She is best known for her love and devotion to family, her passion for dancing and painting, laughing and being silly, and her ability to turn every stranger into a friend. She spread love to absolutely everyone she came into contact with on a daily basis. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she played an important part throughout their lives. Helena was an accomplished watercolor artist, and a member of the Bridgeport Art League. She retired from Magna Tek Inc. in Bridgeport in 1988, and was a Trustee for over thirty years for Teamster Union (Local #191) Retirees. Survivors in addition to her beloved husband, include her devoted daughters, Margaret Parker and her husband Edward of Fairfield, Patricia Hurley and her husband William of Spofford, New Hampshire, and Jo Ann Csire and her husband David of Guilford, 5 grandchildren, Allison (Ron) Kaspriske, Christopher (Meghan) Parker, Sean (Kristy Hughes) Hurley, and Scott Hurley, 3 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Maris, and Lede, and several nieces and nephews. Helena was pre-deceased by her granddaughter, Amy Parker, sister, Marian Szaniszlo, and half brothers Herbert, William, Joseph, and Rudy Nagy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 20 meeting directly at St. Lawrence Church 505 Shelton Road Huntington at 11:30 am. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home-Stratford.
