Helen Grosko Wuerth, age 72 of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday April 13, 2008 in Connecticut Hospice Branford. She was born in Bridgeport to the late Andrew and Agnes Grosko and has been a life long area resident. She was formerly employed by NAGE/IBPO, and was an elementary school teacher, having taught in US Army Dependent's School system Karlsruhe, West Germany, the Connecticut School System and in Chappaqua, NY. Helen was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and Southern Connecticut State College. She was an accomplished poet and received the Golden Poet's Award from the World of Poetry, and was listed in Who's Who in Poetry. She was a member of the Bridgeport Philatelic Society, Slovak Catholic Sokols, World of Poetry and Lay Carmelites. Survivors include her 4 sisters Anne Honek of Milford, Margaret Baluch and her husband Vincent of Seymour, Mary Jordhamo of Stratford and Irene Marella and her husband Michael of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday April 16th t 9 a.m. in St. Theresa's Church Trumbull. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.
