Helen Stric Vojtek, age 93, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Stephen Vojtek, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital, with her beloved daughter by her side. Mrs. Vojtek, a retired assembler for Sikorsky Aircraft, was born in Czechoslovakia to the late Thomas and Susie (Angelovich) Stric and has been a long time Stratford resident. She was a member of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, and their Mother's and Daughter's Club and Seniors. The Vojtek family would like to thank the 2nd Floor Staff of Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center in Stratford, for their kind and loving care. Survivors include her beloved daughter MaryAnn Vojtek of Stratford, 2 granddaughters, 4 sisters Margaret Stric, Katherine Chovanec, Elizabeth Soltis, and Kristina Miscikova, all of Slovakia, her special nieces and nephews, and great-niece, Anna Volkova, Marusa Chovanec Dirgo, Mirko, Misko, Andrej Stric, and Iveta Stric Resetarova. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Helen was pre-deceased by her son Peter Vojtek, brother George Stric, and sisters Anna Plavcan, and Maria Chovanec. . Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 24th at 10 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Mill Hill Avenue Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 9-10a.m. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations in Helen's memory to St. John's Church.
