Helen D. Tarasovich, age 97, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Nicholas Tarasovich, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Bishop Wicke Health Care Center, Shelton. Helen, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Antoniak) Dyno, was born on January 30, 1920 in Richmondale, Pennsylvania. She was educated in the Fell Township school system, graduating in 1938; she relocated to Bridgeport in 1940 where she lived for 45 years until moving to Shelton. Helen is a retiree of the Bridgeport Library System, where she was an assistant in the Community Relations Department, a position she undertook after 22 years of being a housewife and mother. She is a member of the Bridgeport Municipal Retirees, Shelton Seniors, and the Ladies Guild of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, and devoted husband and best friend of sixty years, Nicholas, Helen was pre-deceased by her sons, Nicholas David and Jonathan, her brother, Michael and sisters, Anna and Mary. She is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Cioffi and her husband Paul of Shelton, daughters-in-law, Barbara of Shelton and MaryEllen of GA, granddaughters, Mercedes Tarasovich of AL, Melanie Tarasovich of GA, Nicole Chick and her husband Anthony of Woodbridge, grandson, Matthew Cioffi and his wife Jessica of Shelton, great-grandchildren, Paolo and Cecilia Chick, a nephew, Martin Vanderpool of CA, niece, Margaret Keefe of VA, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and staff of Bishop Wicke HCC for their kindness and compassionate care of Helen in her last years. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 16th  at 10AM in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:30AM in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Trumbull with the celebration of a Divine Liturgy. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory may be made to United Methodist Homes 580 Long Hill Ave Shelton, CT 06484.
