Helen Sostko Sutyak, age 94, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Andrew Sutyak, passed away on April 20, 2018 in Shady Knolls Health Center, Seymour. Helen was born in Bridgeport on April 5, 1924 to the late Stephen and Julia (Konfederik) Sostko and has been a life long area resident. She was retired from Perkin Elmer. Helen was a life member of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Bridgeport, and their Seniors and Baking Crew, she was also a member of the Germania-Schwaben Hall. Survivors include her devoted sons, Raymond Sutyak and his wife Christine of Arizona, and Ronald Sutyak and his husband David of Ansonia, 4 cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Ferrucci (Chris Murphy), Jonathan Sutyak, Nicole Vickers (Chris) and Jason Sutyak, a great-grandson, Dylan Murphy, her sister, Julia Jacob and her husband George of Vermont and several nieces and nephews. Helen was anxiously awaiting the birth of her second great-grandchild, Kelsey Vickers, expected in June. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Helen was pre-deceased by her brothers, Stephen, John, Frank, Michael, and George, and sister, Mary. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 26 ^th at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
