Helen Victoria Kleya Sekara age 92 of Bridgeport, the widow of Joseph Sekara passed away on Tuesday April 26, 2011 in St. Joseph's Manor, Trumbull. Mrs. Sekara, the daughter of the late John and Rosalia Kleya, was born in Greenwald, Pennsylvania and moved to Bridgeport shortly after WW II with her husband. Throughout the years she worked at Remington Arms, General Electric and the former Dinan Center. After her retirement she and her late husband took great joy in being with their friends at both the Bridgeport Industrial Retirees Club and the St. John's Retirees Club and loved traveling with both groups, especially to places with slot machines. Helen was a devoted parishioner of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church in Trumbull. The highlight of her week, later in life was her weekly trips to Saturday evening Mass at St. John's. Survivors include her devoted son John Sekara and his wife Lucile of Stratford and granddaughter Amy Elizabeth Balka MD and her husband Commander Stephen Balka USN, and 2 great-granddaughters Elizabeth Rose and Katelyn Paige all of Suffolk, VA and several nieces and nephews, and a very dear friend Betty of Bridgeport. Funeral services will take place on Thursday April 28th at 11 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11:30 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Trumbull for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe, Friends may call on Thursday from 10 –11 a.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. John's Church 100 St. John's Drive Trumbull, CT. 06611 in Helen's memory.
