Helen Grosner Platko age 92 of Stratford, the widow of Charles John Platko passed away on Friday May 22, 2009 in the arms of her daughter Linda at Lord Chamberlain Health Center Stratford. Mrs. Platko a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft was born in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania to the late John and Ethel (Mihalek) Grosner and has been a long time area resident. She was a member of Holy Name, Baldwin Center and Huntington Seniors. Survivors include her beloved daughters Kathleen Breeding and her husband Daniel of Virginia and Linda Nobitz and her husband Charles of West Haven, her cherished granddaughter Amy, a sister Mary Thompson of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was pre-deceased by her sister Ethel Kuhar and brothers John, Joseph, George, Daniel, Andrew, James and Stephen Grosner. Helen's family would like to thank the staff of Lord Chamberlain for the kind and loving care shown to them and their mother during her illness. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday May 27, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.
