Helen M. Maceyunas, age 92, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Carl P. Maceyunas, passed away on June 30, 2024, at her home.
Helen was born in Bridgeport on May 21, 1932, to the late Gus and Katherine (Ember) Manely and had been a long time Shelton, Daytona Beach, and Stratford resident before moving to Seymour. She retired from the Chestnut Hill Bus Co., where she served as office manager. She met the love of her life Carl at the Ritz Ballroom and went on to win a dance competition there. Helen enjoyed spending her summers on Cape Cod, taking long walks on the beach, collecting shells and enjoyed her trips to the casinos. She also loved to dance and roller-skate and was an avid knitter. She loved singing and was a member of the Holy Trinity Choir. She loved to put on her leopard coat and high heels for a night of dancing.
Survivors include her devoted children, Darlene Kubik and her husband Peter and Carl P. Maceyunas Jr, her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Kubik (Angela), Tiffany Rydz (Bradley), Carl Maceyunas III, and Spencer Maceyunas, 2 adored great-grandchildren, Rhett and Ford, which she was blessed with and loved holding as well as several nieces and nephews. She was so excited with the arrival of her third great-grandchild Baby K due in August. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Helen was pre-deceased by her brothers, William and Thomas Manely, and sisters, Eleanor Ferko, Lucille Nemeth, and Mary Warren.
Visitation on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, with a Trisagion Service at 5 p.m. Funeral services officiated by V. Rev. George Coca, will take place on Tuesday, July 9th at 11 a.m. meeting directly at St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church 504 Sport Hill Road Easton. Interment will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
