Helen Serafin Glowatsky, age 92, widow of Nicholas Glowatsky I, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in Cambridge Manor, Fairfield, CT. She was born in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, May 18, 1919 to the late John and Antonia Serafin and had resided in the Lordship section of Stratford for more than 50 years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, gardening, knitting, and going to the beach near her home, and was employed at Avco/Lycoming for 35 years as the senior cafeteria supervisor. Helen was predeceased by her sisters, Frances and Catherine; brothers John, Stanley, Walter, and Andrew; and grandson, Nicholas Glowatsky III. She is survived by her daughter, Natalie and husband Michael Siavrakas of Stratford, CT; her son, Nicholas II and wife Diane Ludwig Peterson of Stratford, CT; grandchildren Kathleen Murphy Kirkwood and husband Michael and their children, Mikaela, Gavin, and Bryce of Basking Ridge, NJ; John Murphy and wife Tina of Stratford, CT; Steven Glowatsky of Milford, CT; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand- nephews. MEMORY ETERNAL. Funeral services will take place on Monday December 19th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church Stratford Road, Lordship for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CA.R.E.S. Unit at The Baldwin Senior Center in Stratford.
