Obituary

Helen Breyan of Stratford, the widow of Nicholas Breyan, died Saturday February 17, 2007 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport to the late Boris and Serafima (Ermolovich) Bodnar she has been a life long area resident living in Stratford for the past 55 years. She was a Leader of the Girl Scouts and a volunteer at the Dinan Memorial Center, were she was a manger and purchaser in the gift shop. Helen received the Dinan Memorial Service Award from Mayor John Mandanici for her service and commitment to the center. She was a retired bookkeeper with 40 years of service to Guerrera Tailoring and the Louis Moorash Furniture Co. Helen was a member of the St. Mary's Lodge and Women's Guild, the Mill Hill Seniors and the Baldwin Senior Center and was very active in the Sikorsky Gardeners club. She also served as a trustee for Holy Ghost Church and sang in the choir. Survivors include a son Nicholas Breyan M.D.; three grandchildren Kimberly, Christopher and Jonathan and a great granddaughter Emma Lynn; two special friends Diane Laufer and Marion Gulash. Diane wishes to thank the nursing staff of Lord Chamberlain HCC especially Denise and Roberta, the staff of Bridgeport Hospital's ER and Observation rooms, Richardson 10 and 7, Tower 7, Shine 7 and the SICU for there compassionate care given to Helen. Funeral services will take place on Thursday February 22. 2007 at 9 15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00 am in Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church East Main Street Bridgeport with a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery Bridgeport. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8pm Panichida will be at 7:30 pm.
