Harry Sholomicky Sr., age 78, of Bridgeport, the widower of Vera Forson Sholomicky, passed away on Thursday December 8, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Sholmicky, a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Air Force was born in Bridgeport to the late Alexander and Mary (Pachan) Sholomicky and has been a life long area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School, and was a retired blade maker at Sikorsky Aircraft. Harry, an avid bowler and U-Conn Husky fan, was a life long member of Holy Ghost R.O. Church, where he was past President, and was a also a former Cub Master for Pack # 344 Bridgeport. Survivors include his devoted children Harry Sholomicky Jr., and his wife Brenda of Stratford, Sonya Stroud and her husband James of Bridgeport and Kenneth Sholomicky Sr., and his wife Mary of Stratford, 3 grandchildren Matthew, Eileen and Kenneth Jr., a sister Helen Andrzejewski and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife and parents he was pre-deceased by a brother Alexander Sholomicky and sisters Stephanie Curran, Olga Shevchuk, and Annie Ard. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday December 13th at 9:45 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with full military honors will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
