Harry M. Hleva of Stratford, CT passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the age of 96. Harry was born in Bridgeport, CT to John Hleva and Anastasia Darmola. He married Konstantyna D. Soliwoda on May 25, 1946 after earning a purple heart in World War II. Harry had a life long career at Sikorsky Aircraft. He retired in 1977 only to return ten years later to lead the restoration of the Excambian VS-44A which he had worked on early in his career. Anyone who knew Harry well, knows the completion of this project is the proudest moment of his career. Harry was truly a living "archive" of Sikorsky. He is predeceased by his wife and is survived by his daughter, Jessica A. Karns and her husband, Mike, of Manassas, VA, his daughter Barbara E. Mondulick and her loving partner, David E. Meachen, of Stratford, CT, two grandsons, Michael H. Karns and Samuel P. Karns, two granddaughters, Mary Kate Mondulick and Annemarie Mondulick, two great grandchildren, Rhys Karns and Lilly Jane Draskovics. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Mildred Fant of Stratford, CT as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 19th at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be private. Friends may greet Harry's family on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
