Harold J. Batchelor, age 91, of Shelton, beloved husband of Mildred (Huydic) Batchelor, passed away on August 22, 2026, in his home.

Harold was born in Bridgeport on December 9, 1934, to the late Harold and Emily (D’Aiuto) Batchelor and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Derby High School and earned his BS from the University of New Haven. Harold was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Finance Department at Sikorsky Aircraft. He was a member of the Ansonia Rod & Gun Club.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 68 years include his devoted sons, John Batchelor and his wife Dorothy (Munsie) of West Haven and Shawn Batchelor and his husband Jeffrey Escher of Clarksburg, Maryland, 3 cherished grandchildren, Donny Perkins (Mel) and Ariana and Jackson Escher-Batchelor; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold was pre-deceased by his sister, Shirley Terlizzi.

Visitation on Friday, August 28th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Huntington. Interment with full military honors will be in Huntington Lawn Cemetery- South.
