Gustave W. Peschell, age 84, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Stella Pappas Peschell, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Peschell, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, was born in Bridgeport to the late Gustave A. and Johanna Stremple Peschell, and has been a life long area resident. He was the co-owner of Lodus Automotive Service in Devon. Gus was a graduate of Stratford High School, where in 1949 he won 1st place in the Machine Shop category of the U.S. National Industrial Arts Contest. Survivors include his sister-in-law Josephine Peschell of Stratford, nephew Kenneth (April) Peschell of NC, great-nephews Kameron, Justin (Roseanne), and Chance (Charity), and two great-grandnephews Sam and Zaeden. In addition to his beloved wife and parents he was pre-deceased by a sister Margaret Floberg, and brother Kenneth Peschell. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 15th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with full military honors will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
