Guilhermina M. Cardoso, beloved fiancée of Freddy Andrade, passed away on October 24, 2026. Known as Mina, she was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, on February 5, 1960, to Conceicao Moniz and Elmano Sousa. She came to the United States in 1977. In addition to Freddy, she is survived by her cherished daughters: Ana Boehnke and her husband, Jeff; Patricia Perez; and Sandra Rodriguez and her husband, Sam. She also leaves her adored grandchildren: Tyler and Hailey Boehnke, Victor and Tristan Perez, Javian Silva, and Sammy and Lianna Rodriguez.
Mina had a special way of bringing people together through food. A wonderful cook whose delicious meals everyone loved, she created memories around those meals that her family and friends will cherish for years to come.
Mina was caring and nurturing, showing kindness and a heartfelt desire to help others. Humble, noble in character, and patient, she was always willing to lend a hand. She enjoyed her 20 years working as a dietitian aide at Bridgeport Hospital and took an interest in learning about health and well-being. She also took pride in her appearance, always looking beautiful and carrying herself with style and grace.
Above all, Mina’s daughters and her seven grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her family held a special place in her heart, and being a mother and grandmother was an important part of her life. The love she shared with her family and the memories they created together will remain treasured for generations to come.
All who knew and loved Mina will fondly remember her caring heart and nurturing spirit, her humility and patience, her love of cooking, and her beautiful presence.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT. A prayer service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford, CT.
