Jass

Gladys (Wladyslawa) M. Jass, age 72, of Stratford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 30, 2025 after a long illness.
Gladys was born in Szewce, Poland on June 15, 1952 and was the daughter of the late Stanisław and Honorata (Chuchnowski) Boczek. She came to America as a high school exchange student and met the love of her life in night school learning English. She married Milan Jass in November 1972. Gladys graduated from Central High School and held several positions during a 27-year career at BiC Pen in Milford.
Gladys enjoyed gardening, and could make any plant thrive. She also loved travel, cooking, and chatting over a good cup of coffee. Gladys was a devout Catholic, and loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Besides her husband Milan, Gladys is survived by her sisters Czeslawa and Stefsa, her son Mark Jass and his wife MaryAnne of Trumbull, and their daughter Stella; by her daughter Monica Jass McMullan and her husband Jack of Southport and their children Maeve, Brendan, and Owen as well as by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gladys was predeceased by her sister, Olga and by her adoptive parents, Joseph and Stella Blasko.
Words cannot express the family's gratitude for the years of compassionate care given to Gladys by her skilled aides: Thomasine Danzie, Janice Mathurin, Millie Maynard and Annette Wilson. The family would also like to acknowledge the kind hearts of Dr. Tania Sierra and her staff as well as our beloved Bozena Czapka, PA Neurology.
