Germino Veloce, age 62, of Stratford, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital. Jerry was born in Calabria, Italy and came to the United States at the age of 16. He was a hard worker, apprenticing as an upholsterer at Contempo Concepts in Norwalk. In 1982, through countless hours of dedication, he opened his own business, Jerry's Upholstery in Stratford, which he owned and operated for the next 30 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Alicia Banks and her husband, Harry, of Stratford, and Melissa Veloce; step-daughter, Deborah Knowles and her husband, Stephen, of Torrington; his five grand- and step-granddaughters: Elizabeth Banks, Kaylee Holroyd, and Jessica, Jennifer, and Christina Hart; his sister, Carmela Cicchelli and her husband, Benny, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada; his nephew and niece, Natalino Cicchelli and his wife, Gina, and Anita Paci and her husband, Robert; and his four grandnephews: Benjamin, Michael, Adam, and Matthew. He was predeceased by his parents, Carmine and Domenica (Guglielmo) Veloce. A viewing and funeral service will take place in the Adzima Funeral Home at 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford on Friday July 13th from 9-10 a.m. Entombment will be immediately following in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael's Cemetery.
