Gerald S Hopeck Sr, age 73 of Stratford, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital after a long courageous life, battling MS for 25 years. Gerald was born on December 29, 1941 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Stanley J. and Leonia (Worek) Hopeck and later moved to Stratford, CT. He was a retired Color Camera Man for Swan Color Graphics in Bridgeport. Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years Lucille Marie (Zasada) Hopeck, his devoted children Bro. Gerald S. Hopeck Jr, O.F.M. of the Franciscan Friars and Barbara Janulis and her husband Peter of Fairfield and a cousin Margie Krull of W. Hazelton PA. The family is grateful to the countless care givers of Stratford VNA and Arcadia Healthcare and especially express gratitude and love to Rosa Moda and Nicole Minaudo who loved and cared for Gerald for many years. Funeral service will take place on Friday February 13, 2015 at 9:15AM in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, CT and at 10AM in St Mark Church Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7PM.
