George Vasil, age 90, of Bridgeport the beloved widower of Helen Figlar Vasil, passed away on Friday December 29, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Bridgeport to the late John and Bertha (Dzurko) Vasil and has been a lifelong Bridgeport resident. George a retired parts inspector with Textron Lycoming was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Survivors include his beloved children, Gregory and Nicholas Vasil and Janet Urban and her husband Richard, a sister, Mary Ann Pcolar of Fairfield, a sister-in-law, Dolores Vasil of Bloomfield, MA, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, George was predeceased by a brother, John Vasil.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10:00 a.m. in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport, for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Panachida will be at 4:30 pm.
