George G. Somma, age 95, of Stratford, beloved husband of Eleanor Matakevich Somma, passed away on Sunday November 6, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Somma, a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army was born in New Haven to the late Antonio and Santa (DePonte) Somma and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired Regional Salesman for Universal Films, New York., and was a member of the Will Rogers Motion Pictures Pioneers Foundation. Survivors in addition to his wife include his devoted daughter Nancy Cutler of West Haven, 2 stepsons Michael Strazzeri and his wife Maureen, and Joseph Strazzeri all of Stratford, 5 cherished grandchildren Michael Cutler of West Haven, Lisa Cutler of Branford, Lauren Perregaux and her husband Kevin, Caitlin and Michele Strazzeri all of Stratford, a great-grandson Ryan Michael, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his first wife Ann Cerillo Somma, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.Mr. Somma's family would like to thank the Medical Staff of Bridgeport Hospital's ICU for their kind and loving care. Funeral services will take place on Thursday November 10th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 am in St. Mark's Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to the D.A.V. P.O.
