Obituary

George Seresin, 97, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born on October 21,1928 in Bridgeport, CT to the late George and Anna (Ryback) Seresin. In 1946, he graduated from Central High School, in Bridgeport, CT. After graduation, George served two years in the United States Marine Corp followed by a year in the Reserves. In 1950, he married Ann Premak and they went on to live and raise their family in Milford. While working full-time he attended night classes and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport. After many years of dedicated service, he retired from United Beauty Supply.

George was a huge sports fan and spent many hours watching and rooting for the Mets, Cowboys and UCONN women. He also knew the odds and final scores as he had a keen mind for numbers. He was known to enjoy an occasional Saturday sitting with friends watching Thoroughbred horse racing. When his sons were young, he coached their Little League teams. He was an excellent Duck Pin Bowler and Pool player and played in several tournaments across the country.

Spiritual his entire life, George was a former parishioner of the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Bridgeport before joining Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church in Ansonia.

George was very social, to know George was to love George.

George’s second family and home was the Milford Senior Center, where he went daily to visit his many friends. He enjoyed playing pool for many years and was a very dedicated participant in the Choral Group, Gospel Choir and more recently the Chimes group.

George is survived by Darlene Seresin and Robert Main of Milford, Georgiana Seresin and Gary Kolakowski of West Hartford, Yuri Seresin of Naugatuck, Kim Seresin and Chris Queeney of Bethlehem and Kristen and Rich Malone of Milford. George was blessed with seven grandchildren and was Super Papa to four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Ann Seresin, son Michael Seresin and sister Rita Seresin.

Special thanks to the staff of Milford Health and Rehabilitation Center for their exceptional care and support.
