George Joseph Onze, age 88, of Bridgeport, passed away on January 17, 2017, in his home. He was born on April 2, 1928 in Blakely, Pennsylvania to the late George and Anna (Luchansky) Onze and has been a long time area resident. Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Posh Candela and survived by his children, Janice and Robert Young of Milford, George and Kathy Onze of Bridgeport, James and JoAnn Onze of Milford, Jennifer Harrold of Florida, Julie Ann Onze of Florida, Margaret and Francis Principi of Shelton, Matthew Onze of Florida, Michael and Lori Candela of Monroe, and Mark and Janet Candela of Florida, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a brother Leo Onze and his wife Janet of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews. George's working years were with Manning, Maxwell and Moore, and subsequent owners, Dresser-Halliburton, for fifty-six years, in the financial department. Upon retirement, George volunteered at St. Vincent's Medical Center, primarily in the short stay section. Friends are invited to meet directly at St. Augustine Cathedral 359 Washington Avenue Bridgeport for a 30 minute period of reflection, prior to the 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 20 ^th. Interment will be private. At George's request calling hours have been omitted. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home Stratford.
