George M. Demchak Jr. age 82 of Stratford, beloved husband of Eleanor Mudre Demchak, passed away on Tuesday September 14, 2010 in Bridgeport Hospital. George, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War was born in Bridgeport to the late George M. Demchak Sr. and Helen Kosch Demchak and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired Gauge Calibrator for Dresser Industries, and was a member of the Dresser Quarter Century Club and Retirees and has been a life long member of St. John's Choir and Male Chorus and was also a member of St. John's Seniors. He was also former coach for Stratford P.A. L Little League. Survivors include his beloved wife Eleanor Mudre Demchak, his devoted children Mark Demchak and his wife Christine of Monroe, David Demchak and his wife Jean of Granby, and Susan Horvath and her husband Peter of Ohio, 7 cherished grandchildren Kathryn, Natasha, Marcus, Cooper, Natalie, Olivia, and Zolie, a brother Michael Demchak and his wife Mary of Bridgeport and a sister Ann Vayser of Milford, and several nieces and nephews. A Requiem Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday September 17th at 10 a.m. in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist 364 Mill Hill Avenue Bridgeport. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Panachida on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. John's Church.
