George J. Borodack, age 89, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Elsie Pcolar Borodack, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital. George, a retired Engineer for AVCO with over forty-five years of service was born in Syracuse, NY to the late George and Anna (Harrison) Borodach, and has been a long time area resident. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he was training to be a pilot, and was shot down twice over occupied Europe while aboard the planes, "Ma's Worries" and the "Bachelors Delight" George was a life time member of the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Bridgeport, where he was a former church officer. He was also a former member of the Trumbull Town Committee, and was a member of the VFW in Trumbull. George was also an avid Fly Fisherman. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, include his children, Kevin G. Borodack (Carmen) of Trumbull, Gary Borodack (Patty) of Stratford, Deb Waldo (Dan) of Trumbull, 3 cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Waldo, and Cooper and Shaquanna Borodack, 4 sisters, Helen Halkovic, Anna Mae Dragone, Margaret Miterko(Peter),and Dorothy Daymonde, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother Henry. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 4th at 9am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport, for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Panachida at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in memory of George to St. John's Church.
