Obituary

Bondaruk – George Bondaruk age 83 of Stratford, married to Paraska (Patricia) Drevanik Bondaruk, passed away in Bridgeport Hospital on Friday February 1, 2008. Born in New York City to the late Samuel and Mary Sapp Bondaruk, George was raised in Bridgeport, graduated from Warren Harding High School and was a Stratford resident for over fifty years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he rose to the rank of Sergeant, was an anti tank gunner and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the D- Day Invasion. George was the proprietor of Cameo Fur Shop in Bridgeport until closing in 1985 and a member of the Raymond T. Goldbach Post 9460 VFW. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Mark and his wife Edwina of Shelton and Timothy Bondaruk of Stratford, a sister Katherine Duban of Trumbull, three brothers, John of Maryland, Samuel and his wife Virginia of CA. and Alexander Bondaruk of Stratford, and a very special friend Joann Artese. Sisters Lydia Chueka and Mary Hartnet predeceased George. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 10 am with Reverend Vadim Pismenny officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Bridgeport. Friends may call on Monday from 4 – 8pm with a Panachida service at 6:00 pm
