Gail T. Kitay, age 70, of Newtown, beloved wife of Martin Kitay, passed away on December 30, 2022, at Watermark at East Hill in Southbury. Gail was born in Bridgeport on November 4, 1952, to the late Paul and Evelyn (Jalbert) Blennerhassett, and grew up in Stratford. She was a graduate of Stratford High School class of 1970, and received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut. After spending years in the field of cancer research, Gail earned a Master of Library Science degree from Queens College, and joined the staff of Bryant Library in Roslyn, NY, from which she recently retired. Gail and her family had been longtime residents of Long Island, where she enjoyed reading novels, going to museums, theater and restaurants in New York City and nearby her home. She also enjoyed the beaches and parks on Long Island. Gail and her family recently moved to Newtown where she was loving her new home. In addition to Martin, her beloved husband of 31 years, and her cherished son, Benjamin, survivors include her sisters Carolynn (Joe) Garrett, and Lynne Blennerhassett, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT.
