Fred Hentschke, age 89, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Vera Yakunin Hentschke, passed away on June 23, 2019 at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield. Fred was born in Kiev, Russia on February 10, 1930 to the late Victor and Ludmilla Hentschke and has been a longtime area resident. He was retired from Remington Rand, and had a lifelong passion for science, engineering, and electronics. Survivors include his devoted daughter, Elena Lavigne and her husband Réal Lavigne of Shelton, and 3 cherished grandchildren: Michael Lavigne (and his husband Danny Silk), Daniel Lavigne, and Christina Lavigne. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 27 ^th at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home with Rev. Constantine Semyanko officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe.
