Frank Bene, age 94, of Oxford, formerly of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Madelene Dunn Bene, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 in his daughter's home. Frank, a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War, was born in Stratford to the late Steven and Dorothy (Gaydus) Bene and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired Chef at the Black Rock Yacht Club and a member of the Fleet Reserves, Stratford Baldwin Seniors, Shelton Senior Center and the Raymond T. Goldbach VFW Post 9460. Survivors include his beloved daughters, Gail Parks and her husband Ken of Oxford, and Lorijean Brockert and her husband Alexander of Milford, 7 cherished grandchildren, Jessica Pisacane (Donald), Kenneth Parks Jr., Keith Parks (fiancé Jaime), Allison Tolmie (Andrew), Jaime Jimenez (Steve), Thomas Brockert, Kathleen Metzler (Kyle), 11 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, Ava, Olivia, Steven, Braydon, Connor, Kaleb, Taylor, Alaric, and Craig, his longtime companion Ede Benne, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and wife, Frank was pre-deceased by his son Robert Bene, his brothers, Gaza, Stephen Jr, Bella, Rudolph, Bert, and a sister, Mary Zimla. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 20th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
