Florence Donofri Totora age 85 of Stratford the widow of Frank M. Totora passed away on Sunday January 24, 2010 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Totora, a retired receptionist for Milford Hospital was born in Bridgeport to the late Daniel Donofri and Anna (DiBlasi) Donofri Pavluchik and has been a life long area resident. Florence was very patriotic and was involved as a volunteer and benefactor of the WW II Monument at Academy Hill in Stratford, she also supported numerous veteran groups as well as St. Jude's Children's Hospital. She earned her GED when she was in her sixties, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. Prior to working at Milford Hospital she was an operator for AT&T and also a receptionist for Donahue Sales, and was an avid painter. Survivors include her beloved daughter Lynda Pettersen, her cherished grandchildren Erik N. Pettersen and April Lynn Zukowski and her great-granddaughter Arianna Rose, a sister Mary Roviello and a niece Anne Roviello. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brother Anthony "Sonny" Donofri who died while serving during WW II at the battle of Anzio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 28th at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
